- Paul... I am dumbstruck by your response. :(
-
- I run live chats on Portal every night. Nearly every night, people
- come into these chats and ask me where and when they can buy a 1200.
- All I can say in response to them is "Well, you wait till they
- show up in the shops, or you can visit c.s.a.marketplace and
- look for a good used one and try to strike a deal."
-
- Sure, these are all people who already own an Amiga who want a
- 1200. So what. A sale is a sale. The computer doesn't care who's
- buying it.
-
- I talk to a lot of dealers. Dealers call me, knowing my net-involvement,
- asking me for info on how their customers can get on the Internet.
- In turn, I ask them what the situation is vis-a-vis customer
- demand for 1200s (since USA customers can already buy 4000Ts).
- They tell me they have many customers who have already pre-paid
- for 1200s and are awaiting delivery, or they are getting a lot
- of inquiries from people on a budget who want the same technology
- of the 4000T in a smaller, more compact, more affordable
- package, which is exactly wht the 1200 is.
-
- Paul, honestly, I don't know how many 1200s you'd sell in the USA.
- And "a lot" is a relative term, sure.
-
- But I sense a demand for them out there and I don't think I'm
- hallucinating.
